Common Questions and Answers

What time is your service?

Our main services are on Sundays at 9.30 am and 4.30 pm. We also have Bible study classes on Sundays at 1.00 pm and Tuesdays at 7.00 pm.

What is available for my children?

The children come into the main church at the beginning of the service to join with the adults in singing and Bible reading. At 10 am, before the main message, the children follow their teachers to the Sunday School classrooms.

  • Nursery. We have a nursery where children under the age of two are cared for.
  • Preschool. We also have a preschool group where your child can attend a Sunday School class which includes a variety of stories, crafts, play and music.
  • Kindergarten – Year 6. Your child will be blessed by a Sunday School class that teaches them about God. The teachers use games, activities and stories from the Bible.
  • High School Youth. Our Sunday Youth service runs concurrently with the main service in the Gymnasium. It is specially designed for their age, as they understand God’s desire to have a close, personal relationship with Him.

How long does a service last?

Typically a service will last 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Who is invited?

Everyone is welcome! You do not have to come from a Baptist background or hold to any particular religious affiliation to attend services here. If you have a desire to know God and experience His best in your life, we would love you to come and try one of our services.

I want to become a Christian, what should I do?

Please talk to Pastor Piper or one of the ministry leaders who will be glad to discuss this with you or visit this link to know how to be 100% sure of going to heaven

How can I join this church?

If you would like to become a member of our church, please talk to the pastor after the service to arrange a time to explain the church membership requirements. As a starting point, please read our
Statement of Faith.

When does the church observe the Lord’s Supper?

Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is observed on the first Sunday of each month at both the morning and evening services. It is available to all born-again baptised believers.

I want to be baptised. Will you baptise me?

New Testament baptism is reserved for those who have received Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Baptism is a symbol of our faith and an act of obedience for believers. It is also a picture of what has already taken place in the heart of the believer – death to the old life (going in under the water) and rising to the new life in Christ (coming up out of the water). If you would like to get baptised, please talk to the pastor who will make time to talk with you about this.

When is the Farsi language service?

We have a Farsi Bible study on Sundays at 1.00 pm.

What is the “Offering”?

In the early part of the service, offering bags are passed around the congregation. There is no pressure to give, although we occasionally preach and teach on what the Bible says about Christian giving. How a person responds to this teaching is between them and the Lord. Money placed into the offering bag goes towards the general running of the church. We also provide Mission envelopes if you would like your offering to go to the support of missionaries.

What happens after the service?

At the conclusion of each service, we have a morning tea or supper. The Basic Bible Certificate Course then commences at 1.00 pm.

Can I make a time to see the pastor?

Yes. Please contact us to book an appointment.
