Our main services are on Sundays at 9.30 am and 6.00 pm. We also have Bible study classes on Sundays at 1.00pm, Tuesdays at 5.00 pm, Wednesdays at 7.30 pm and Thursdays at 7.30 pm.
The children come into the main church at the beginning of the service to join with the adults in singing and Bible reading. At 10 am, before the main message, the children follow their teachers to the Sunday School classrooms.
Typically a service will last 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Everyone is welcome! You do not have to come from a Baptist background or hold to any particular religious affiliation to attend services here. If you have a desire to know God and experience His best in your life, we would love you to come and try one of our services.
Please talk to Pastor Piper or one of the ministry leaders who will be glad to discuss this with you.
If you would like to become a member of our church, please talk to the pastor after the service to arrange a time to explain the church membership requirements. As a starting point, please read our Statement of Faith.
Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is observed on the first Sunday of each month at both the morning and evening services. It is available to all born again baptised believers.
New Testament baptism is reserved for those who have received Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Baptism is a symbol of our faith and an act of obedience for believers. It is also a picture of what has already taken place in the heart of the believer – death to the old life (going in under the water) and rising to the new life in Christ (coming up out of the water). If you would like to get baptised, please talk to the pastor who will make a time to talk with you about this.
We have two services that run concurrently on Sunday mornings, an English service and a Farsi service. Both of them commence at 9.30 am. We also have a Farsi Bible study on Sundays at 1.00 pm.
At the beginning of the morning service we have a greeting time. This lasts for a few minutes and is a chance to meet and greet others in the service.
At the conclusion of the preaching, the pastor invites people to come forward for a special time of prayer if they would like to do so, or to make a public profession of their faith. However, coming forward is entirely an individual decision and no one should ever feel like they have to.
In the early part of the service, offering bags are passed around the congregation. There is no pressure to give, although we do occasionally preach and teach on what the Bible says about Christian giving. How a person responds to this teaching is between them and the Lord. Money placed into the offering bag goes towards the general running of the church. We also provide Mission envelopes if you would like your offering to go to the support of missionaries.
At the conclusion of each service we have a morning tea or supper. We would love you to stay for this. Also, on the first Sunday of each month we have a Fellowship Lunch to which everyone is invited. We encourage those who are able to bring a plate of food to share on Fellowship Lunch Sundays. The Basic Bible Certificate Course then commences at 1.00 pm.
